Pediatric Pelvic Scan

This 8 year old boy needs a pelvic scan.

Patient Weight: 45lb (20.4kg)

Patient Height: 3ft 11in (1.2m)

Patient Age: 8 years 2 months

Gender: M

Suggestions for getting the most out of the simulation:

Begin by changing one parameter at a time and see the impact on Effective Dose, CTDIvol and DLP.

After noticing the changes when you change one CT parameters, begin changing two and three parameters at a time, again noticing the impact on the various dose estimates.

Note: You need to set all of the parameters including mA – there is no auto mA in this game.

(1) Choose the machine you'd like to use:
(2) Drag the table and patient to position the scan line at the top (head-side) of region to be scanned.
You can also move the scan lines on the scout to change the area scanned.
(3) Choose numerical parameters to optimize the scan. For example, first try changing one parameter at a time to see the impact. Then try changing two at a time to learn what matters the most.
